ADJECTIVES


Adjectives tell us more about nouns.  Sometimes they are placed before the noun:
a blue ball  
an 
old woman    
two 
tiny shells  
three 
blind mice       
the 
natural world



Sometimes, they are placed after the verb:

The ball is blue.       
The woman was 
old.      
The shells were 
tiny.      
The mice were
 blind.

Many short adjectives have comparative and superlative forms:
big  bigger  biggest                   
short  shorter  shortest               
black  blacker  blackest 



​Verbal Adjectives

These are adjectives that are formed from the present or past participle of verbs.
running water
a knitted jumper
the laughing policeman            


Possessive adjectives
